SHARCS ARE 2-0The SHARCs brought the heat, this past Saturday, January 19th, 2019 at Glencoe Park, which helped as the temperature was in the mid 30’s for kickoff. The new year opener for the SHARCs against the Dallas Harlequins was just what the SHARCs prepared for over the holiday break. The high wind and low temps had an adverse effect on the passing of both teams, the winds stayed steady most of the game around 10-20 MPH and gusted up to 30 MPH. This resulted in the forward packs having to scrum throughout the game. However the conditions did not slow the SHARCs down. Seeing tries from both the backline and the forward pack, the first half ended with the SHARCs dominating 28-0.
The SHARCs kept the positive momentum into the second half. Even with the amount of scrumming and wind, the SHARCs kept up the hard work and ended the day only letting in a try by the Quinn’s in the last second of the game. The final score 73-7. The SHARCs hard work and dedication earned the win in Dallas this past weekend. Making the current record for the SHARCS a perfect 2-0 in Cup play. They will try and keep their winning record going this weekend as the SHARCs take on the Austin Valkyries in the second match of the season between these two teams. It will be a quadruple header for HARC and UofH with the SHARCs kicking of the day at 10 am, with the HARC and UofH Men following afterwards. Come cheer on the SHARCs this weekend and the rest of the HARC crew at University of Houston. See you there! Tag(s): The Club News
