ROUGHNECKS JOIN HARCThe Houston Athletic Rugby Club and the Houston Roughnecks have joined forces for the 2016-2017 season and beyond. The goal is to share resources such as coaches and players to field competitive sides in the TRU's D1 and D1b competitions as well as qualify and play for the Bingham Cup in 2018.
"HARC has been inclusive since its formation," says HARC President David Yeoman. "This partnership is a simple demonstration of our belief that rugby is a 'game for all' and falls in line with our vision to promote and grow rugby as leaders in the local rugby community." The team will play as the Roughnecks in International Gay Rugby (IGR) events such as the Bingham Cup. The Roughnecks formed in 2002 as Houston's first specifically inclusive rugby club and competed independently for several years in the TRU. Both teams are excited to see our rugby family grow and look forward to the 2016-2017 season. Tag(s): The Club
