D2 women's Addition to the Club

This year the Club is excited to be expanding our women’s program to include a D2 women’s team. The addition of the second side for the  women will allow the teams to grow their player pool and to be able increase the depth of our women's programs!!

The D2 SHARCs kicked off their first season match against the only other women’s team in Houston, BARC women. The sHARCs stepped in the field with a dominant showing, the score at the end of the game was 44-0 with the sHARCs not stopping the pressure from whistle to whistle!

This past week the sHARCs D2 team took the field against the current Texas Champions the San Antonio Riveters.  There was non- stop action from the first kick,  great defenses plays from Bria Miller and Aila Prieto.  Hard hit delivered through out the game by Mary Waller and Halley Rebar and a dominate scrums  from the forwards pack gave a dynamic back line a platform to play off.  But in the end of the day the hard work from the Riveter had the score at the end of the day in favor of the Riveters in a 18-29 final score. 

As a club and team we are looking forward to see the growth of the athletes over the season! And we are looking forward to the next match against the current champions.
